Sho-Ban Kids Participate in Buffalo Hunt
Published at(FORT HALL, ID) — A group of Fort Hall residents are working to ensure that tribal traditions stay alive for generations to come. Members of the Shoshone-Bannock tribes staged a buffalo hunt last month. Organizers shot and killed one of the nearly 400 bison on the reservation to teach youth the basics of skinning, cutting, and preparing buffalo meat. They say it’s a way to honor their ancestors and learn how to provide traditional food for themselves and their families.
