“The Hobbit” Leads Nominees for Saturn Awards

Warner Bros. Pictures(LOS ANGELES) — The Hobbit’s journey is leading it to the Saturn Awards.

The Lord of the Rings prequel The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is the leading nominee for the 2013 Saturn Awards, honoring films in the sci-fi, fantasy and horror genres.  It received nine nominations, including in the best fantasy film category, from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Life of Pi earned eight nominations, and the James Bond film Skyfall picked up seven.

The recently-concluded Fox series Fringe is tops among all TV nominees, with six nods.

The Saturn Awards will be presented sometime in June.  An exact date and location have yet to be announced.
