“Warm Bodies” Opens in First Place with $20 Million

iStockphoto/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Warm Bodies was the hot movie at the weekend box office.

The zombie flick opened in first place, earning an estimated $20 million.  It snatched the box office crown away from Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, which slipped to the runner-up spot, with $9.2 million.

The Sylvester Stallone action flick Bullet to the Head debuted in sixth place, collecting $4.5 million.

In limited release, the Al Pacino-Christopher Walken-Alan Arkin film Stand Up Guys raised $1.5 million.

Here are the top 10 movies from Friday through Sunday, with estimated ticket sales, according to Hollywood.com:

1. Warm Bodies, $20 million
2. Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, $9.2 million
3. Silver Linings Playbook, $8.1 million
4. Mama, $6.7 million
5. Zero Dark Thirty, $5.3 million
6. Bullet to the Head, $4.5 million
7. Parker, $3.2 million
8. Django Unchained, $3 million
9. Les Miserables, $2.4 million
10. Lincoln, $2.4 million
