(12) Oregon Knocks Off (5) Oklahoma State 68-55
Published at(SAN JOSE, CA) — It cannot be an NCAA tournament without a No. 12 seed upsetting a five.
Damyean Dotson scored 17 points, Arsalan Kazemi chipped in 11 points and 17 rebounds as No. 12 Oregon (27-8) upset fifth-seeded Oklahoma State 68-55 to advance to the next round of the NCAA tournament.
The Ducks sure did not play like a team who deserved a 12 seed. The selection committee gave them one despite the fact that they tied for second place in the PAC-12 in the regular season. They also defeated UCLA to win the conference tournament last week.
Markel Starks led Oklahoma State (24-9), with 16 points.
Oregon advances to take on No. 4 Saint Louis, who eliminated New Mexico State from the tournament on Thursday afternoon.
