(LOS ANGELES) — LaQuinton Ross hit a three-pointer with two seconds left to lift (2) Ohio State to a thrilling 73-70 win over (6) Arizona in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
Ross scored 14 of his 17 points in the second half to help the Buckeyes (29-7) rally from a double-digit deficit and advance to their second-consecutive Elite Eight appearance.
“It feels great, man,” said Ross. “I think this is what every player grows up looking at on TV, wanting to hit that big shot for an NCAA tournament team. It just feels great right now.”
Deshaun Thomas paced Ohio State with 20 points while Aaron Craft added 13.
Mark Lyons led the Wildcats (27-8) with 23 points.
Ohio State advances to play either (9) Wichita State or (13) La Salle in the West Regional final.
