Blackfoot Police Chief Stepping Down

(BLACKFOOT, ID) — Blackfoot Police Chief David Moore is stepping down later this year. Moore’s plans to formally retire were announced at a city council meeting Tuesday night. His retirement will go into effect May 31. Moore also recommended that current Blackfoot Police Capt. Kurt Asmus be named as interim chief, which was made official following Tuesday’s meeting. Moore says that Asmus will likely be chosen as his successor when the time comes
