(BOISE, ID) – The Idaho House Revenue and Tax Committee has voted to move forward on a bill that would remove the state sales tax from Girl Scout cookies. The tax, which stands at 22 cents per box, generates around $140,000 in state revenue annually. If approved, Girl Scout officials will keep prices at $3.75 per box, with the extra proceeds going to support scholarships to help low-income girls be a part of the organization.
