(WASHINGTON, DC) – U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo is critical of the first budget proposal Congressional Democrats have offered in nearly four years. Crapo, who serves as a member of the Senate’s Budget Committee, says the budget “fails to recognize the worsening of the economy” under the Obama administration. The proposal would raise taxes by $1 trillion and contains no spending cuts. Crapo says the federal government should focus its efforts on cutting the deficit and balancing the budget.
