(LOS ANGELES) — NBC will be bringing back the a cappella competition show The Sing-Off during the upcoming holiday season this year.
The program, which features a cappella groups battling for a cash prize and a Sony Music recording contract, last aired in 2011.
Variety.com says the show’s judges Ben Folds, Sara Bareilles, Shawn Stockman, and host Nick Lachey attempted to launch a social media campaign last year to revive the program, tweeting #SaveTheSingOff to their followers and NBC took note of the large response.
Paul Telegdy, head of alternative programming at NBC tells Variety, “To all of the loyal fans of The Sing-Off who asked us to bring the show back — we heard you loud and clear!”
There’s no word if the original judges and Lachey will return for the show’s fourth season.
