The miners surfaced at 6:12 a.m. Wednesday after seven hours of rescue efforts, Dariusz Wyborski, a spokesman for KGHM, the operator of the Rudna copper mine, confirmed to ABC News.  They had been trapped 600 meters, or 2,000 feet, below the ground, the BBC reported.

Wyborski said only one miner suffered some minor head cuts and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
