Published at(LAS VEGAS) — Sam Hornish Jr. won the Sam’s Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, surviving two restarts in the final 15 laps to hold on for the victory.
Hornish finished just one second ahead of Kyle Busch, who took home second place. Brian Vicker, Trevor Bayne, and Elliott Sadler rounded out the top five.
It was the second Nationwide victory for Hornish, who led for 114 laps.
Busch gave Hornish a run for his money after the final restart, taking the lead with less than seven laps to go. Hornish was able to get one final push and take the lead for the final five laps.
“You dream about having cars like this,” Hornish said. “I think I used more energy celebrating than I did actually driving the car today.”
