Semi-Trailer Starts Bridge Fire

(BURLEY, ID) – A semitrailer crash along I-84 east of Burley set a bridge on fire Sunday morning. Officials say 49-year-old Manuel Maynez of El Paso, Texas drove off the right shoulder and hit a guardrail, igniting one of his fuel tanks. The spilled fuel caught the bridge on fire, blocking westbound traffic for about three hours. Police say Maynez was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured.
