State Lawmakers Discuss Gay Issues
Published at(BOISE, ID) — Idaho lawmakers are scheduled to hold a hearing addressing gay and lesbian issues Thursday. Officials plan to discuss the possibility of adding language to the Idaho Human Rights Act that will provide protections for the LGBT community on issues of housing and employment. A vote on the measure failed to make it out of committee last year, and a vote won’t happen this year, either. The forum is designed to keep discussion alive to facilitate future measures. Opponents to the bill say it’s not worth a vote this year, since very few opinions have changed since the last vote.
