Bulls Nip Nets, Take 2-1 Series Lead

SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1366968071576DON EMMERT/AFP/Getty Images(CHICAGO) — The Brooklyn Nets scored 17 points in the first 5:36 minutes of the game and then proceeded to miss 25 of its next 26 field goals as they fell to the Chicago Bulls, 79 to 76. The Bulls now have a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven first round playoff series.

Carlos Boozer led the Bulls with 22 points and 16 rebounds in the win.

“After the first five minutes I thought we played very good defense throughout most of the game,” Boozer said. “They’re a very good team. They came back of course.”

That is true.

The Nets outscored the Bulls 24 to 14 in the fourth quarter, and where a C.J. Watson 3-pointer away from sending the game into overtime.

Brook Lopez led the Nets with 22 points in the loss.

Game 4 is set for Saturday in Chicago. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 PM Eastern time.
