Davone Bess Traded to Browns

Modra/Sports Imagery/ Getty Images(BEREA, Ohio) — The Miami Dolphins traded wide receiver Davone Bess, a fourth-round pick (No. 111) and a seventh-round pick (No. 217) to the Cleveland Browns for the Browns’ fourth-round pick (No. 104) and fifth-rounder (No. 164) on Friday

The deal will be completed Saturday pending Bess passing a physical. Browns’ general manager Michael Lombardi also said the team has talked with Bess about a three-year contract extension. Bess is slated to make $2.6 million next season and is a unrestricted free agent in 2014.

The 5-foot-10 Bess has played five NFL seasons, all with Miami. He caught 61 passes for 778 yards and a touchdown in 13 games last season.

Bess, 27 , joins a receiving core made up of Greg Little, Travis Benjamin and Josh Gordon. All three are under the age of 24.

Bess has played in 77 games compiling 321 catches, 3,447 yards and 12 touchdowns for his career.
