In the episode, which is titled “Turban Cowboy” and which originally aired on Fox on March 17, Peter Griffin explains to broadcaster and guest star Bob Costas that he won the Boston Marathon by striking other competitors with his car.

There’s another scene in the episode in which Peter inadvertently blows up a bridge by dialing a phone belonging to a terrorist.

The episode has been removed from Fox.com and Hulu, according to TVLine.com.

An edited clip from the episode, combining the two scenes to give the impression that the terrorist explosion occurred at the marathon, has been circulating on the Internet.

In response, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane tweeted on Tuesday, “The edited Family Guy clip currently circulating is abhorrent. The event was a crime and a tragedy, and my thoughts are with the victims.”
