According to the Albuquerque Police Department, the stabbing at St. Jude’s Thaddeus Church happened shortly before noon.

The church service was ending and the choir was beginning its closing hymns when suspect, who has not been identified yet, jumped several pews and began to stab choir members.

Witnesses report that the man, who was not a parishioner at the church, was yelling “fake preacher” during the attack.

Four people were stabbed, and are being treated at local hospitals. None of them have life-threatening injuries, according to the police.

Police say that parishioners were able to grab onto the culprit and hold him down until authorities arrived.
