(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – The city of Idaho Falls could soon take over operations in the control tower at the Idaho Falls Regional Airport. Director Craig Davis says the airport will transfer money from maintenance to keep funding the tower through the end of the fiscal year. The FAA currently spends $425,000 annually to keep the tower running, but the city of Idaho Falls is committed to keeping it open with $300,000. Councilwoman Sharon Parry says the city will have to cut hours for employees currently working in the tower.
