Even more amazing? Russell, 37, gave birth to her second child just a little more than a year go.

“[There’s] this really nerdy workout I do in my walk-through closet in our brownstone,” says the actress of her fitness regimen, which also includes walking and dancing. “I do a workout video and use my own music–whatever is inspiring to me at the time, like Alabama Shakes, or Mumford and Sons.”

Work also keeps her pretty active. Currently the star of the F/X espionage series, The Americans, Russell learned fight training to prep for the role. “I did get a bloody lip, which I am sort of proud about,” she says. “You should see the other guy though!”

And while the mother of two says, “I don’t think I ate a green vegetable until I was 30,” she now tries to keep things a bit more balanced. However, her inner omnivore remains.

“One thing you would be surprised to learn about me is that I eat everything,” says Russell, who describes her dream weekend as “sleep, sleep, girlfriends, glass of wine and a delicious meal.”

“I am crazy for dessert,” she adds. “No one should be denied anything. You should be able to have a little bit of everything, just don’t eat the whole thing!”
