(NEW YORK) — One of the most famous villains in movie history has been resurrected for a new TV show.
Dr. Hannibal Lecter, the cannibalistic killer portrayed by Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs and two other films, is at the center of the NBC prequel Hannibal, debuting Thursday night at 10 p.m. Eastern time.
Clash of the Titans actor Mads Mikkelsen stars as Lecter, who helps a criminal profiler, Will, search for a serial killer. However, Will doesn’t know that Lecter is a psychopath himself.
Hugh Dancy and Laurence Fishburne also appear in Hannibal.
