The Penguins were two wins away from tying the 1992-93 Penguins for the NHL’s longest winning streak of all-time.

Pittsburgh, which played its second game without star center Sidney Crosby, never led in the game.

“It’s always tough when it comes to an end,” Pittsburgh goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury said. “But the guys did a good job during the streak coming back in games and holding off leads. We played some very good hockey and we need to keep focusing to play the same way.”

Buffalo’s Kevin Porter scored his first two goals of the season and Ryan Miller stopped 19 shots in the win.

Pittsburgh (28,9-0, 56pts) received its first goal from the newly acquired Jerome Iginla.

Buffalo (14-17-6, 34pts) snapped a four game losing streak with the win.
