Since Diamond’s surprise performance to honor the victims of the bombing, sales of the song jumped nearly 600 percent.

For more than a decade, the Red Sox have played Neil’s classic during the middle of the eighth inning of each home game. It always elicits a massive sing-along from the crowd.

Diamond says he will donate all the royalties from the song to help the victims of the bombing and plans on writing a new song about the events.
