LOUAI BESHARA/AFP/Getty Images(DAMASCUS, Syria) — Syria’s prime minister survived an assassination attempt Monday after a bomb went off near his convoy in Damascus.

It’s believed rebels who want to overthrow the regime of Bashar Al-Assad planted the improvised explosive device.

Prime Minister Wael Nader Al-Halqi was unhurt, but there are reports of several casualties.
