The 27-year-old Davis allowed just five hits and no walks while striking out seven. Closer Greg Holland nailed down his third save of the season in the bottom of the ninth, striking out Justin Upton, Evan Gattis and Dan Uggla.

Kansas City scored their lone run in the top of the fourth when Jeff Francoeur hit a single to left field off of Braves starting pitcher Mike Minor, allowing Lorenzo Cain to cross home plate.
