This news comes after the firing of men’s basketball coach Mike Rice for cursing, using gay slurs, and being physically abusive with his players, which led to athletic director Tim Pernetti resigning.

“She (Hermann) would embarrass them.  She would humiliate them.  She would force them to as punishment if they hadn’t played well,” Craig Wolff who reported the story, told ABC News Radio.

“She would force them to wear their clothes inside out.”

Hermann is set to take over the Rutgers’ program on June 17 and told the newspaper that she didn’t remember the letter.

When Hermann was reached by phone by the Ledger on Wednesday, she replied, “Wow.”

“Constant yelling, screaming and sort of this overall out of control coach.  That’s the picture they’re (former Tennessee players) painting,” Wolff said on Sunday.
