The win means the Blackhawks win the series 4-1.

Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews notched two assists in the game.

“It feels good,” Toews said of winning the series. “We worked hard all season to get to this point. Nothing is for sure whether you’re the first or the eighth seed. It doesn’t really matter. You got to go out there and work hard to get out of the first round and we did that.”

The win marks the first time Chicago has advanced past the first round since it won the Stanley Cup in 2010.

Patrick Sharp scored his fifth goal of the playoffs and is tied with Boston’s David Krejci for the playoff lead.

The Blackhawks will play Detroit in the next round if the Red Wings can beat the Ducks. Otherwise the Hawks will take on the Sharks.
