An MRI on Haper’s knee showed no structural damage, but the 20-year-old slugger has been diagnosed with bursitis, Johnson says.

“I think it’s just uncomfortable…it’s like an inflammation,” Johnson said when talking about Harper’s knee during a press conference Monday. “We just need to let it calm down. It was a little more swollen today. I asked him yesterday if he had a lot of fluid there. He didn’t have a lot of fluid yesterday, but he looks like he’s got more today.”

Harper originally injured the knee on May 13 when he ran into the outfield wall at Dodger Stadium. He previously missed three games due to the knee and aggravated the injury Sunday multiple times by sliding head-first during the Nationals’ game versus Philadelphia.

Harper is hitting .287 with 12 home runs, 29 runs scored, 23 RBIs and a .386 on-base percentage this season.
