David Lee Has Successful Hip Surgery

NBA via Golden State Warriors(OAKLAND, Calif.) — Golden State Warriors forward David Lee underwent successful surgery on his torn right hip flexor Thursday. The procedure was performed by Dr. William Meyers at the Vincera Institute in Philadelphia, and Lee is expected to begin rehabilitation in the next 10-14 days.
The 6-foot-9 Lee was injured in the Warriors first game of the playoffs against the Denver Nuggets. The Warriors originally declared the injury season-ending but Lee returned just five games later, playing just over one minute in the Warriors series clinching Game 6 victory.
Lee proceeded to miss the first two games in the Warriors’ second round series versus San Antonio, but played in the last four games. Lee ended up averaging 10.9 minutes, five points and 4.7 rebounds per game in the playoffs.
In 79 regular season games, Lee averaged 18.5 points, 11.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, earning him Third Team All-NBA honors.
