“Fast & Furious 6,” “Epic” Open Nationwide Friday

Universal(NEW YORK) — The Hangover Part III opened early Thursday, earning an estimated $3.1 million in late-night screenings, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Two more films arrive in theaters Friday, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend. Here’s a closer look:

Fast & Furious 6 — In the latest film in the action series, Dwayne Johnson’s federal agent Hobbs asks Vin Diesel’s Dom to get his team back together in order to take down a group of mercenary drivers. If the mission is a success, Dom’s crew will be granted full pardons. Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Luke Evans also star. Rated PG-13.

Epic — In this 3D animated film, a teen girl is transported to a secret world where she helps some warriors in their fight against their evil rivals. Beyoncé, Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Christoph Waltz and Amanda Seyfried lend their voices to the film. Rated PG.
