Gomes Powers Indians Over Mariners, 10-8

5 20 13%20Gomes%20A?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1369087911478Robert Binder/MLB Photos via Getty Images(CLEVELAND) — Indians catcher Yan Gomes belted a pair of home runs, including a three-run shot in the 10th inning, giving Cleveland a 10-8 victory over Seattle on Monday.

The win gives the Tribe its first four-game sweep over the Mariners since 1981.

With Michael Brantley on second and Drew Stubbs on first, the 25-year-old Gomes took a 3-2 pitch from Mariners reliever Charlie Furbush (0-3) and sent it over the left-field wall.

In the top of the 10th, Indians reliever Joe Smith gave up a one-out homer to Justin Smoak.

Scott Kazmir started the game for the Indians, giving up five earned runs over three innings of work. Seattle starter Hisashi Iwakuma also gave up five earned runs in six innings of action.

Cleveland improves to 26-17 on the season while Seattle falls to 20-25.
