“Hangover III” Star Hits Premiere with Homeless Woman

Frazer Harrison/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Zach Galifianakis turned heads when he showed up at the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie Hangover Part III this past Monday. His date was an 83-year-old woman he saved from the streets a couple of years ago.
According to the New York Daily News, when Galifianakis was an unknown comic in New York City, he used the Laundromat where Elizabeth “Mimi” Haist volunteered. The newspaper says they became such close friends that when Zach later learned she was homeless, he got her an apartment and even paid her rent.
The Daily News says Zach has taken Mimi to premieres before, including Hangover Part II and The Campaign. He even stops by every few weeks to take her to lunch.
Hangover Part III opens nationwide May 23.
