(BOISE, ID) – Two of Idaho’s state judges are alleging that the state Department of Correction is recommending probation over prison time in far too many cases. Prison officials say they’re “very judicious” in determining what ultimately happens with inmates. Judges Mike Wetherell and Cheri Cospey claim the state doesn’t want to keep filling prisons with inmates who don’t pose a major risk to the public.
