Tautphaus Park Zoo Kicks Off Summer Season

(IDAHO FALLS, ID)  —  The summer season kicks off this weekend at the Tautphaus Park Zoo with a whole host of special events.  This Saturday, May 25th, fun runners can take a jog around scenic Tautphaus Park and the Zoo during the first annual Grin and BEAR It 4-K Fun Run.

Registration forms are available at the Zoo’s gift shop, on the Zoo’s website (www.idahofallszoo.org), Teton Running and Personal Best Performance.  Registrations will be taken the day of the Fun Run starting at 7:00 a.m. at the front of the Tautphaus Park Zoo.  There will be fantastic raffle prizes at the end of the race and the Zoo will be announcing the names of the sloth bear cubs.  All proceeds from the Fun Run will be donated to Wildlife SOS which works to save sloth bears in India.

Bear Aware Day will also be on Saturday.  Children who bring a teddy bear to the Zoo will get in free all day.  From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. the Zoo will also have bear related
activities and games.

The Animal Encounters Show starts back up on Saturday as well.  Shows are daily at 1:30 p.m. with an extra show at 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays and 3:30 p.m. on Sundays.  The
theme for this year’s show is Animal Defenses so come see how animals protect themselves!
