Tigers Blast Astros 17-2
Published at(HOUSTON) — Miguel Cabrera went 4-for4 with two home runs and six RBIs leading the Detroit Tigers past the Houston Astros 17-2 Saturday.
Every starter had a hit for the Tigers including Torii Hunter, who had four hits and two RBIs.
The Tigers got the party started early, scoring four runs in the first and two more in the second inning.
Astros starting pitcher Lucas Harrell pitched 4.1 innings, allowing 10 hits and eight runs while walking four and striking out three.
Max Scherzer earned the victory pitching eight innings, allowing one run and striking out eight.
Detroit (18-11) now holds a half-game lead over the Kansas City Royals for first in the AL Central.
