Vokoun stopped all 31 shots he faced leading the Pittsburgh Penguins to 4-0 Game 5 victory over the New York Islanders Thursday night.

The win gives Pittsburgh a 3-2 lead in their best-of-seven first round playoff series.

Vokoun, who hadn’t started a playoff game in six years, was named starter after Fluery allowed six goals on 24 shots in the Penguins 6-4 loss Tuesday.

Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang, Douglas Murray and Tyler Kennedy all scored in the win.

Evgeni Nabakov made 23 saves in the loss.

The top-seeded Penguins will try to wrap up the series in Game 6 Saturday in New York. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:00 p.m. Eastern.
