(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Animal control officers had their hands full Wednesday after an exotic bird escaped from the Tautphaus Park Zoo.   Officials say a black and red African ground hornbill was able to get out through a hole in its enclosure that was made by a zebra. The bird, which is nearly three feet tall, made it over a mile before being captured near the intersection of Lava Street and Chamberlain Avenue. Police even sent out a reverse 911 call shortly before the bird was caught. Zoo managers say the bird never posed a threat to the public.
