(POCATELLO, ID) – A Chubbuck woman will serve 21 months in prison for what prosecutors called “serial embezzlement.”  Thirty-six-year-old Leslie Briggs reportedly stole more than $103,000 from a government-sponsored trust fund while working at the Aid for Friends homeless shelter. Briggs was previously convicted on embezzlement charges in 2000 and 2006. Judge B. Lynn Winmill called Briggs a “serious threat” to any company with whom she might be employed in the future. Briggs says she’s lived a hard life and will work to rectify the damage she’s caused.
