Katy is one of the celebrities announced Thursday as a future recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Other musicians set for the honor include the late rapper Tupac Shakur, ’80s MTV star and General Hospital actor Rick Springfield and Ray Parker Jr., best known as the guy who sang the Ghostbusters movie theme.

It’s not known exactly when these celebrities will receive their stars.  They have five years to arrange a ceremony, which they must attend personally — unless, of course, they are no longer with us — or the honor is forfeited.

Other future inductees announced on Thursday who aren’t musicians include Orlando Bloom, Claire Danes, the late Phil Hartman, Sally Field, Jessica Lange, Dabney Coleman and Liam Neeson.
