Sears Employees Set Superman Record

Sandy Huffaker/Bloomberg News(CHICAGO) — As part of a promotional tie-in with the upcoming movie Man of Steel, Sears employees set a world’s record Wednesday for the most number of people dressed as Superman.
Supermen and superwomen suited up by the hundreds at the retailer’s headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Ill. The company, which is featured prominently in the comic adaptation, furnished 800 costumes to employees, although only 566 of them stayed for the official count by Philip Robertson, an official from the Guinness Book of World Records, WLS-TV reports.
The magic number easily bested the previous record holder, 437, which was set by a company in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in September 2011.
