Serena Williams Advances to French Open Final
Published at(PARIS) — Serena Williams advanced to the women’s final of the French Open on Thursday after defeating last year’s runner up, fifth-seeded Sara Errani of Italy in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. The match took just 46 minutes to play.
The 15-time Grand Slam champion came out of the locker room and put on dominating performance, winning the first nine games and securing a 40-2 advantage in winners.
It’s the first time Williams has reached the finals of the French Open since winning her lone championship in 2002. She will meet Maria Sharapova, who will also be seeking her second French Open championship.
