Joe Robbins/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — The New York Jets have signed rookie quarterback Geno Smith to a four-year contract worth approximately $5 million.

Smith was selected in the second round (39th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. Since being drafted, Smith has fired his agents and hired hip-hop artist Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports.

Smith is expected to compete with Mark Sanchez for the starting quarterback job on the Jets.

Smith played his college football for the University of West Virginia. During his four years in Morgantown, Smith threw for 11,662 yards, 98 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.
First-round picks cornerback Dee Milliner and defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson are the only two draft picks the Jets haven’t signed.
