(LOS ANGELES) — The cast and crew of Glee held a memorial Thursday for Cory Monteith, who died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol earlier this month in Vancouver.
Glee producer 20th Century Fox Television said in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter Thursday that series creator Ryan Murphy and the late actor’s co-star and real-life girlfriend, Lea Michele, gathered the cast and crew for the memorial.
The studio said those in attendance shared “memories and music in an emotional celebration of the life of Cory Monteith.”
Glee actor Chris Colfer on Thursday posted onto Instagram a photo of himself with Monteith doing an interview. He wrote, “I’ll never forget all the laughs we shared or the faces we made after awkward interview questions. Love and miss you, buddy.”
Monteith, who was 31, played Finn Hudson on the show. Fox recently pushed back the fall season premiere of Glee by one week, to Sept. 26, due to Monteith’s death.
