Jesus Soto Karass Defeats Andre Berto Via TKO In 12th Round

Ronald Martinez/Golden Boy/Golden Boy via Getty Images(SAN ANTONIO) — Jesus Soto Karass (28-8-3, 18KOs) stopped two-time champion Andre Berto (28-3, 22KOs) in the 12th round of their welterweight fight Saturday night.
Berto took control of the fight early, but Soto Karass seized the momentum in the fourth after Berto began to slow down.
In the 11th round, Berto sent Soto Karass to the canvas with a left-hand body shot, but Soto Karass rallied to beat the ten count. 48 seconds into the final round, Soto Karass connected with a left-hook, sending Berto crashing to the mat. The referee immediately stopped the fight, giving Soto Karass the technical knockout.
After beginning his career 27-0, Berto now has lost three of his last four fights.
