Lakers VP: Bryant Could Be Back by Preseason
Published at(NEW YORK) — Kobe Bryant could be back by the time the NBA preseason opens up in the fall, according the Laker vice president Jim Buss.
“Well, we’re in Vegas, and I would bet a lot of money that this guy comes back probably in preseason,” Buss told NBA TV during the Lakers-Milwaukee Bucks Las Vegas Summer League game on Thursday.
Bryant is recovering after tearing his Achilles tendon late in the 2012-13 season.
“He’s going to come back when he’s right. He’s a machine. He’s inhuman. I see him coming back at the beginning of this season. I can’t believe how much he’s progressed so far,” Buss said.
Bryant has said recently that he is ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation and would become more active as training camp in October nears.
