Luis Scola Dealt to Indiana Pacers
Published at(PHOENIX) — The Phoenix Suns have traded forward Luis Scola to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for guard Gerald Green, center Miles Plumlee, and a lottery-protected first-round draft pick.
Scola played his first five NBA seasons with the Houston Rockets before being waived under the league’s amnesty provision. He was picked up by the Suns before last season, where he averaged 12.8 points and 6.6 rebounds in 82 games.
Green has played for six teams since coming to the NBA in 2005. Plumlee was drafted in the first-round of last year’s NBA draft, but played in only 14 games last season.
The deal was a no-brainer for the rebuilding Suns, who acquired another first-round pick and young players that can play right away.
Scola will fit in perfectly with the Pacers, who are a contending team. He will spell both Roy Hibbert and David West in the frontcourt.
