Man Attacked by Grizzly in Island Park

(ISLAND PARK, ID) – A wildlife technician was attacked by a grizzly bear in Island Park Monday. Brett Panting of the Wildlife Conservation Society was bit by the bear while he was collecting data in the Davis Lake area. The bear then ran off. Panting, who suffered major puncture wounds was transported to EIRMC for treatment. Fish and Game officials caution that anyone hiking in the area should always carry bear spray.
