Joint POW-MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) leadership apparently did not distribute an internal report, commissioned by the POW-MIA office, which found mismanagement and bad planning for the field trips to battlefield locations to look for missing remains.

At a press briefing Tuesday, Pentagon press secretary George Little said, “We’re going to review the concerns raised in the report to see how JPAC is or isn’t functioning well.  And if steps need to be taken to remedy what’s happening inside JPAC, then we’ll take action. This is an important mission.”

Little didn’t have many details about the new review other than it had been initiated by the Pentagon’s top policy chief  Dr. James Miller, whose office oversees JPAC.

“Some of these concerns, quite frankly, didn’t bubble up,” Little said. “And it’s important when these concerns are raised to take a look, so I think it’s the prudent thing to do.”
