“Red 2,” “R.I.P.D.,” “The Conjuring” Open Friday
Published at(NEW YORK) — The film Turbo opened earlier this week, earning $5.8 million in its first day of release, according to Deadline. If animated snails aren’t your thing, you can check out one of the three new movies debuting Friday. Here’s a closer look:
— Red 2: In the sequel to the 2010 hit action comedy, Bruce Willis returns as CIA agent Frank Moses, who leads a team of operatives on a dangerous mission as they try to find a lethal device that could throw the world into disarray. The cast also includes John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Mary-Louise Parker. Rated PG-13.
— R.I.P.D.: Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds are two deceased cops who serve with the Rest in Peace Department — an organization dedicated to tracking down spirits who refuse to move on to the afterlife. Kevin Bacon and Mary-Louise Parker also star. Rated PG-13.
— The Conjuring: A pair of paranormal investigators check out a demonic force that’s taken over a family’s farmhouse, and things get scary. Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor star in the horror flick. Rated R.
