Forbes says Downey earned an estimated $75 million between June 2012 and June 2013.

Downey is box office gold, starring in six movies in recent years that have each grossed more than $500 million worldwide.  Two of those films, 2012’s The Avengers and 2013’s Iron Man 3, each grossed over $1 billion.

According to Forbes writer Dorothy Pomerantz, “As long as he’s willing to keep putting on the Iron Man suit, Downey will remain one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors.”

Forbes says Downey will also earn a huge payday for the upcoming Avengers sequel, which starts filming in February.

Channing Tatum is second on Forbes’ “Highest-Paid Actors” list, earning an estimated $60 million, thanks in part to his share of the profits from the hit film Magic Mike.  Tatum and director Steven Soderbergh financed the movie themselves and hit pay dirt when the film, which had a budget of $7 million, grossed $167 million worldwide.

Hugh Jackman ranks third with an estimated $55 million in earnings, much of which comes from his paycheck for the upcoming film, The Wolverine.  It arrives in theaters July 26.

In compiling the list, Forbes says it spoke with agents, producers, managers and others with knowledge of Hollywood earnings.

Here are the top ten highest-paid actors in Hollywood, along with estimated earnings between June 2012 and June 2013, according to Forbes:

1. Robert Downey Jr., $75 million
2. Channing Tatum, $60 million
3. Hugh Jackman, $55 million
4. Mark Wahlberg, $52 million
5. Dwayne Johnson, $46 million
6. Leonardo DiCaprio, $39 million
7. Adam Sandler, $37 million
8. Tom Cruise, $35 million
9. Denzel Washington, $33 million
