Salt Water Taffy Named America’s Favorite Summer Candy

iStockphoto/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Your dentist will be happy to learn that salt water taffy has been chosen by Americans as their favorite summer candy.
Candy Crate, an online candy store, recently conducted a survey that asked respondents: “What is Your Favorite Summer Time Candy?”
Salt water taffy was number one with more than 25 percent of the vote.
The findings are based on a July 2013 survey of 2,100 men and women from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
The favorite summer candies in order of popularity are:
- Salt Water Taffy
- Gummy Bears
- Jelly Fruit Slices
- Tootsie Rolls
- Sour Patch Kids
- Sixlets
- Zotz
- Astro Pops
- Watermelon Gummy Rings
- Jolly Ranchers
